Just Furs Boutique
Story/Description
What started as one woman sewing fur mitts at her kitchen table in the North has grown into a go-to spot for staying cozy in serious style.
Just Furs was founded by Kristine Bourque—a trapline-raised, parka-sewing, fur-fashion trailblazer who packed up her kids in 1983 and headed to Toronto to study fur design at George Brown College.
Armed with skills, creativity, and a serious love for warm hands and stylish heads, Kristine began designing and selling her own line of fur accessories in Yellowknife. By 2002, she opened a shop in Old Town that quickly became a must-stop for locals, tourists, and anyone who hates being cold.
Though Kristine has since hung up her sewing needle, her kids have stepped in to carry on the legacy. These days, Just Furs lives online at www.justfurs.ca and pop up markets around Yellowknife. Same heart, same quality—just with a Wi-Fi connection.
If you're looking for local traditional arts and crafts, luxury fur hats, mitts, and scarves with northern soul and serious warmth, you're in the right place.
