Born and raised in Yellowknife, I learned to sew when I was 9 years old on a 1901 Singer threadle sewing machine from my home on Jolliffe Island. I started sewing pillows and small home decor, then quickly moved on to sewing clothing and parkas. By the time I was 14 I was making clothing for others. Unlike a "typical" teen, I was happy to stay home on the week-ends and create! I started my little line of vintage aprons and accessories through the small business name of Domestic Diva about 20 years ago. I started selling my creations at craft shows and out door events. Sewing has always been the creative outlet I need in my busy life of being a mom and having a full time job.
