Emily Mercredi is a painter, illustrator, designer, builder, and dreamer. Some of her earliest memories centre on creating art, both as a refuge and as a way of making sense of the world around her. Drawn to themes of nature, mortality, dreams, and the uncanny, her work seeks beauty in what is often overlooked or misunderstood.

Emily works across a wide range of mediums, including oil, acrylic, glass, wood, and metal, as well as found, discarded, and broken objects. She is especially drawn to materials with a past, rebuilding and re-imagining them into forms that feel useful, meaningful, and alive again.

Her practice is driven by a desire to express what cannot be put into words. Through her work, she aims to comfort the troubled, unsettle the comfortable, and build a body of work that reflects themes of environmental decay, dreams, personal struggle, motherhood, and ultimately, hope.
