Artist Story

I think anything can be made into jewelry; from the inner rubber tubes of motorbikes to zipper pulls and shrink plastic. Where there is a will, there is a way to create it into bright and bold art. I really love to experiment with new mediums and that is what I find the most fun.

It started as a fun thing to do with my daughters and it developed to a point of us selling them at local craft sales and different festivals in Yellowknife. Having a business model to the art teaches them a lot of important skills and I am proud that we can do something fun, and learn together.

Artist Bio:

Mimi and her two young daughters, Pippa and Bridie are the artisans behind Predictably Random Creations. They take great satisfaction in watching people’s reactions to their unique and quirky creations, which usually range from a smiling “Oh, cool!” to an outright belly laugh followed by an “How the heck do you guys come up with this stuff?!”. The jewelry and accessories they create appeal to mainstream folk as well as people who might label themselves as Scene, Goth, Emo, Rockabilly and Steampunk, amongst others. Their favorite mediums are embedded resin, up-cycled found objects and hardware. Yes… hardware. From the hardware store. Mimi is the Head Designer and Artisan, but Pippa and Bridie are both in charge of the Cool Department.
