Artist Bio:

While growing up in southern Canada, I talked a lot about becoming a fiction writer – but never actually wrote anything. Then I moved to Yellowknife. Inspired by the quirky charm of northern life, I promptly picked up my pen. I dabbled in drama and poetry, but soon found that the short story was my preferred form for capturing the spirit of the place. My short story collection, The Ugly Truck and Dog Contest and Other Tales of Northern Life, was published by Borealis Press in 2009. Thirty years after moving north, the beauty of the land and the resiliency of the people are still my inspiration.
