Alma Cardinal is a resident of Tsiigehtchic, NT. She enjoys producing artwork that relates to her Aboriginal background, which is Gwich'ya Gwich'in as well as her family activities. She continues to use traditional stories and photography as a reference for most of her paintings. In 2000, Alma participated in the Great Northern Arts Festival in Inuvik, and has also attended other arts events in her community and throughout the Inuvik region. In 2005, Alma attended Red Deer College's, Fine Arts Program.
