NWT Arts is excited to announce updates to the NWT Arts website that will make it easier than ever for the public to find and connect with NWT artists. These new self-identification features allow artists to add more information to their profiles and help users search by culture, genre, medium, and community. Keep reading for more information on these new features!
The next time you log in, you will be required to complete these mandatory fields, which means you must add this information to your profile. However, you will have the choice to display the information to the “public” or keep it “private”. Please note, making these fields “public” will ensure your profile has the most updated information for consumers.
1. Culture - mandatory field
- Artists can self-identify with one or more cultures.
- Artists can choose whether to make this information public or private.
2. Genre of Art - mandatory field
- Artists can select one or more genres of art.
3. Mediums - mandatory field
- Artists can select multiple mediums.
3a. Primary Medium - optional field
- Artists can select one primary medium to highlight the main medium they work in.
4. Community - mandatory field
- Artists can add different locations for their ‘Home’ and ‘Current’ community.
- If they are the same, select the same location for both fields.
- If they are different, select different locations – where you are from (Home) and where you live now (Current).
- Consumers will be able to search by community to find artists who live there, or those are culturally connected to it but living someplace else.
- Artists can choose whether to make this information public or private.
- Region selection is still required for internal purposes but will not appear on your public profile (anymore).
We invite you to log in and update your artist profile to reflect your culture, genre, medium, and communities. These updates will help you connect with consumers more effectively and ensure your profile reflects your identity and artistic practice.
