We created The Gallery on 47th Street concept in 2010 - our first business, on the first floor, of our first home.  Our vision was to introduce the community to a dedicated space for exhibiting collections of new work by local artists.  We believed, by creating an elevated experience for artists & customers, we could expand the market for local art and, by extension, our community and economy.  

Over time, the fates brought us to new adventures. There were other dreams to be built. We rented the space to Elke’s Table on 47th Street in 2015, a relationship that continues to this day.

In 2019, we bought the place next door, 4909 47th Street. We love the location and we knew this property would benefit from our time and care. An unpolished diamond in the heart of Yellowknife's downtown, longing to be appreciated.

Thus, 12 years later, The Gallery on 47th Street is reborn. With more space and features, right next door to the original gallery - we’re pleased to offer the best ever experience for artists & customers. As always - classy, comfortable, and convenient.

The Gallery on 47th Street is a family business and 100% locally-owned.  We exhibit the highest-quality Northern art by the best artists - past, present, & future. Our exhibits rotate weekly, so there's always new collections to see and experience.
