If you are interested in selling at this year's Snowcastle Craft Sale on Saturday, March 12, 2016 from 12-5 pm, please fill out the attached form and/or send me the relevant information. The fee is $20 and you will need to bring your own table.

 

There are always lots of visitors at the Snow Castle, so it's a great place to exhibit and sell your work - and a fun place to spend the day!

NWT On-The-Land Collaborative Fund

 

What is the NWT On-The-Land Collaborative Fund (OTL Collaberative Fund)?

The Fund was created to promote and support on-the-land initiatives in the NWT by providing easier access to funding and other resources. There is a lot of interest in on-the-land programs, but finding the money to run these programs can be a lot of work for communities and organizations that have to apply to many different places to get the funding and support they need.

 The Accidentals are a newly formed Yellowknife-based a cappella group that are looking for a bass/baritone to round out their group. They meet to rehearse every Thursday evening at 7:30pm and perform a wide range of music.

The producers of the award winning film THROAT SONG are holding Open Call auditions for THE GRIZZLIES, a new feature film based on the inspiring true story of a group of Inuit students in a struggling Arctic community, whose lives are changed by the transformative power of team sports.

Appointment of a new Parliamentary Poet Laureate

January 5, 2016 (Ottawa) – The Speaker of the Senate, the Honourable George J. Furey, and the Speaker of the House of Commons, the Honourable Geoff Regan, announced the appointment of George Elliott Clarke as Canada’s next Parliamentary Poet Laureate, effective January 1, 2016. Mr. Clarke is the seventh poet to hold this office, succeeding Michel Pleau, whose two-year term ended on December 31, 2015.

The French Canadian office of the National Film Board of Canada has launched the 2016 call for documentary projects in French! 

 

The Concours Tremplin is intended to develop Francophone and Francophile documentary filmmakers outside of Québec. This contest offers the opportunity for filmmakers to direct their first or second film under an umbrella of professional support and guidance from the NFB throughout the entire production process.
