Wiiliideh language is a valuable component of the local culture and by learning the language the learner will be better equipped to understand Dene culture. A language course is far more than the words learned; it is a window into the landscapes, the culture and the people who speak (or spoke) the language. Through the process of learning a language, the learner gains an appreciation of the culture and it generates an ability to understand why people think and act as they do. Language acquisition enables the learner to build new relationships and it strengthens cross-cultural ties.
