Call for Presenter for Junction Artist in Residence (JAR) program 2016 - Sewing Through a Landscape: fashion or clothing art related workshop
Three exciting months of fashion + clothing art awaiting you in Haines Junction mid July to mid October 2016.
JAR has a public Craft Workshop Weekend coming up on the 2nd weekend in August 2016, Friday 12th to Sunday 14th, in Haines Junction.
They are seeking presenters, instructors and trainers with experiences in fashion, textile, and apparel related endeavors.

About the Craft Workshop Weekend
Date: August 12th - 14th 2016
Location: DaKu- Cultural Center, Haines Junction, Yukon
Honorarium: $30/ hour (Time of presentation + 4 h prep time) + material, equipment costs (Other offers could be accepted regarding the quality of the workshop and other circumstances) Further benefits: Accommodation, food and travel support; free market stand to present and sell own products.
JAR is looking forward to offer different kinds of workshops throughout the weekend.
*Advanced participants courses to show certain methods and techniques.
*Beginners drop in courses with easy to adapt techniques to produce a piece of clothing art.
*Children courses and activity.
*On going growing art piece for public join inns.
Themes could be
*First Nation clothing/ traditional techniques
*Creative clothing art/ costume design
*Certain techniques such as weaving/ braiding, felting, leather sewing, textile dying and printing, patch work/ quilting.
or anything you consider worth sharing.
