Yellowknife Glass Recycler's (YGR.coop) is hosting a Glass art
stencilling workshop this Saturday afternoon Sept. 27th. between noonand 4 pm. at 3510 McDonald Drive. If you would like to participate inthe workshop we still have a few openings. The cost is $30 for your first piece and if you want to go on and make more we can arrange a package deal.

"Winter in the Boreal Forest - Dog Walking Notes "

June 15 to December 2008

Paintings by Sheila Hodgkinson from 35 years of observation and drawing in the boreal forest of the Northwest Territories are on display until December 2008 at the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre in Yellowknife.
The Yellowknife painter is showcasing 30 works in acrylic and oil, many of which are inspired by long walks shared with her husky-shepherd cross, Bailey. For years the pair have made daily journeys through the woods that surround the legislature, Niven Lake and Back Bay....read more

Over the past two weeks, the arts and culture sector has learned almost daily that certain cultural programs have been cut or completely cancelled. What started initially as the cancellation of two programs dedicated to the promotion of Canadian arts and culture abroad has became a broader movement which now adds up to a loss of more than $ 46 millions in support of the arts and culture community.
