Attention NWT Producers: Do you have a project at the development stage? The Canada Media Fund's Northern Incentive Development Financing Fund opens on May 30th.

The CMF’s mandate includes support for funding to production across the country. As such, the CMF is continuing its Northern Incentive. As part of the CMF's Convergent Stream, projects funded must include content to be developed and produced for distribution on at least two platforms, one of which must be television.

The Art Gallery of Alberta is seeking submissions for its Biennial of Contemporary Art exhibition that will be presented in the Fall of 2020. This exhibition, sponsored by ATB Financial, will be jointly organized and presented at the Art Gallery of Alberta and Remai Modern.

Library and Archives Canada has announced an initiative that provides funding of up to $100,000 per project to eligible Indigenous organizations to digitize existing culture and language recordings, and to help them build the skills, knowledge and resources they need to carry out this work in their communities.

Listen, Hear Our Voices is an initiative that resulted from engagement and collaboration. This initiative aims to help digitize and preserve First Nations, Inuit and Métis Nation culture and language recordings.

A new funding opportunity for New and Early Career Artists is open to craftspeople. Access funding for career advancement (mentorships, internships, apprenticeships, training and workshops), creative research and the creation of new work, residencies, public presentation, etc. If you have yet to meet the criteria for a professional artist with the Canada Council for the Arts, or if you are newly started in your arts career, look to this new pilot project to see if you can access support.

Western Arctic Moving Pictures film society (WAMP) is calling for storytellers to participate in the Northern Sights 360 video project. Seeking storytellers and performers to submit story ideas and audition.

With the use of video and virtual technologies as platforms for NWT artist, the project's goal is to reach out to northern, national and international audiences and collaborators in explorations of their unique northern landscape.

Storytellers will create immersive environments for audiences and provide a realistic and intimate experience of the contemporary north. more

NorthWords Writers Festival is offering a fantastic opportunity for all NWT writers. Literary agent Marilyn Biderman of the Transatlantic Agency will be attending this year’s writers festival and is offering to work with six writers while she is here.

We’re looking for comedies and dramas under 12 minutes in length to be broadcast in primetime on CBC Television.
