Workshop: Writing Poetry about Illness and Disability

In this two-hour workshop with Governor General’s Award-winning author, Jacob Scheier, participants will be introduced to published poems about illness and disability and will discuss them as a group. These poems will serve as prompts for writing exercises for expressing your own experiences of disability and illness through poetry. Participants will also have the opportunity to share their writing exercises with the group.

 

This event is available for free or by donation but please do take the time to register on eventbrite as space is limited.

COVID-19 MEASURES AND RESTRICTIONS:

We want everyone to enjoy a fun and safe festival. To limit the spread of Covid-19, we will be following public health measures and restrictions for gatherings and events. In-person events held outdoors are limited to 50 people. We require registration and will perform screening upon arrival. Participants are required to wear a mask and maintain physical distancing.
