There are so many arts-based organizations working to make Yellowknife a dynamic and creative community. For the first time ever, we'd like to get everyone from the community in the same room to share information and experiences.
Curious about the hopes and dreams of other arts organizations? Or maybe about what funding bodies they've found success in? But really, the struggles we all share as arts community organizers - and how we overcome them?
Networking is a bit of a dirty word. It conjures up images of people standing around awkwardly, thrusting a business card at each other, giving a sales pitch and then almost scurrying off in their eagerness to make the next connection. We want to build RELATIONSHIPS and opportunity to make meaningful connections among us.
And so the NWTCC is proud to host an "anti-networking" event where folks involved in Yellowknife / NWT arts are encouraged to come out, share their story and meet like-minded organizers.
The evening will include:
- rapid fire art organization show & tell
- interactive post-it walls about dream events & programs
- live music from The Housemen
- much more!
While this event is aimed at serving the needs of non-profit organizations and arts collectives, independent artists are welcome to attend!
