The Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre is celebrating its 40th birthday since opening in 1979.
It’s more than a museum! The PWNHC holds in trust for the public a large collection of objects that represent the peoples and cultures of the Northwest Territories, and produces exhibitions that tell stories about the land, people and history of the NWT. In addition to its exhibits, collections and conservation programs, the PWNHC houses the NWT Archives, provides technical, logistic and financial support to individuals and organizations involved in cultural activities and the arts, and authorizes archaeological studies in the NWT.
Please bring the family and join us on June 15th to enjoy fun activities, music and jigging! You can meet our staff, take a peek behind the scenes and learn more about the arts, culture and history of the NWT from storytellers and experts.
