Artist Story

I like to make cardholders and uppers. My mom taught me how to bead when I was a teenager and growing up in Fort McPherson where I still live. The first thing I learned how to bead was a cardholder, and to this day it is still my favorite thing to make.

I like to make art because I love to see how it will look after it’s done. I also like to be able to sell my artwork to people who enjoy it. I particularly love to bead flower designs – any kind of flower is very beautiful to me! Purple, red and blue are usually my favorite colours to work with.

I get my inspiration to create my art from other people. I love to be inspired by the beautiful work people post online. What I like the most about beading is to be able to sit in the moment and create. I draw most of my own designs and I particularly love to see how the design comes together as I progress.
