Lois McDonald-Layden

Artist Bio:

Lois has been wet and needle felting for six years under the name of Tuckamoor Wildcrafts. Her art is inspired by the North specifically, and nature in general. She produces popular bookmarks, wall-art and fantastical dolls and toys, as well as functional pieces like scarves, slippers, mittens, and felted mitten harnesses. Lois is constantly seeking out opportunities to learn from other felters and artists in general.

The three dimensional, soft to the touch quality of wool tapestries and projects is addictive! Lois enjoys teaching felt-art to children and adults in workshops from 2 hours to 2 days. While felting is her artistic outlet of choice, Lois is also the General Manager of Old Town Glassworks, in Yellowknife, NT, which produces artisan glassware from recycled bottles, she is an accomplished seamstress and landscape designer and loves pottery. An army wife, who gets to live in many parts of Canada with her husband and three children, she is originally from Newfoundland and is an ornamental horticulturist by trade.
