Dayl was born in Yellowknife, NT and is of Metis heritage. Dayle grew up with a knowledge and love of the art of Inuit soapstone carvings as well as beaded work and other carving styles. In 1998 he discovered his own talent with carving and was guided and encouraged to pursue this talent by an acquaintance of his. Dayl expresses his untaught talent in his work to reflect the Inuit way of life. Each of Dayl's carvings comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and each carving is numbered to match the certificate.
