Darla Rabesca
Born in Yellowknife hospital, NT but was raised in Wha Ti, NT. I have spent the past 3 years attending the University of Lethbridge in Alberta. I have always had an interest in drawing and crafts of all kinds. I work in mediums such as watercolor, acrylic and oil paints along with chalk, paper, pencil, ink, crayon etc.
I had no formal training when I was a child so I decided to just learn by observing other artist on tv or looking at children's colouring books. A couple of years ago, I've decided to return to school and attend 'Bachelor of Fine Arts/Education' at the University of Lethbridge to fulfill a life long dream of becoming an artist. Since, I could remember, my artistic abilities have lead me to do what I wanted to do in my life and I am so grateful for all the positive people in my life who had pushed me to follow my dreams and become an artist. As an up-coming artist, I would like to use my talent to portray my culture and tradition in a new way of doing things. As a tlicho woman, I would like to inspire others and I hope to do well with my artistic endeavours in NWT.
