Courtney Chetwynd

Artist Bio: 

Courtney Chetwynd was raised in the Eastern and Western Arctic of Canada's Northwest Territories. She holds a Master of Fine Art degree from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Mount Allison University in New Brunswick. She currently resides in Yellowknife, NWT where she continues to create, research, and exhibit art. She has exhibited work in New York City, Calgary, Banff, Yellowknife, New Brunswick, Toronto, and Montreal. Courtney has received numerous awards and research grants from the Alberta Foundation of the Arts, The University of Calgary, The Centre for Research in the Fine Arts and the NWT Arts Council. Her work focuses on themes, processes and metaphors of the body through intergrating Northern concepts and materials in a contemporary manner. Granted 3,000.00 to produce large scale art installations using various media and disciplines.
