Bonnie Findlay-Fournier
Bonnie's family came to Yellowknife in 1970 and fell in love with the North. She is a self-taught artist and began painting folk art about ten years ago. Over the years Bonnie began to notice that Yellowknife's heritage buildings were slowly disappearing and felt the need to capture the character and beauty of Old Town in paintings. She began to paint miniatures on wood blocks and produced a set of four art cards depicting Old Town scenes. She has had her work on permanent display for about two years at Originals by T-Bo. The City of Yellowknife Heritage Committee purchased three of her paintings in 1998. Throughout the years she has been commissioned to paint numerous businesses, private residences, cabins and even airplanes. In her career, Bonnie has produced a collection of 60 wildflower illustrations and a set of 8 arctic wildflower art cards.
