Armin (Gary) Tautenhahn
Gary Armin Tautenhahn has been carving since 1992 and currently lives in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. He is an established artist who works mainly with ivory, antler of sorts, mammoth and bone. His great grandfather was an artist who worked mainly with marble, which, in conjunction with supporting his family, inspired Gary to attend the Fine Arts certificate program through Iqualuit's Fine Arts Studio. Gary has exhibited pieces that were made for the Department of Indian and Northern Affairs, and sells his artwork himself. Gary is also employed within the field of Prospecting and enjoys working with workshops, other artists, at festivals and working with elders.
