Artist Bio:

Born and raised in Yellowknife, I wasn't around beadwork a lot. Occasionally my mother would bead something when I was the ages of 3-5, but I was not interested in it.
My family who lived in Deline, would travel to Yellowknife and come visit us would work on their beadwork.

Once I had my first son I promised myself I would learn how to do beadwork. I wanted to be able to make crafts and clothing for my growing son, and that he can be proud to wear my work.I started off small making card holders, key chains and rosary cases, I worked on these items until I would'nt make any mistakes and I picked up tips and tricks along the way. Now I love to think outside the box and make new work and designs.

Becoming an adult I've been more strongly interested in my culture and tradition;
Working on animal hides/pelts, hunting, setting fish nets, harvesting medicine, fixing meat etc.Currently I've made countless key chains, cardholders, a rosary case for every new born in my family, uppers, moose hide watches, seal skin pins and earrings, trappers hat and more!

I want to learn every dene art and craft there is!
